SERKET RACING PLACES FOCUS ON VETERAN EDUCATION
SERKET Racing is proud to announce a new set of education initiatives created for military veterans and their families. The ventures include a scholarship program for military family members with the American Freedom Foundation and Kaplan University, a partnership that creates a nursing scholarship at Florida State University and the continuation of a scholarship program for the children of veterans with Fisher House Foundation.
USF VETERANS MENTORING PROGRAM
Mentoring is a rewarding way to share knowledge gained from career success and life experiences. And it is doubly rewarding when you can have this relationship with a military veteran who is pursuing a degree for a civilian career so you can show your appreciation for their service. These talented young men and women have so much to offer – your guidance will certainly help position them for career success.
At USF, the Office of Veterans Services offers their students this opportunity through the Veterans Mentoring Program. Their goal is to match every requesting student veteran with a successful local business and/or community leader – ideally in a career related to that pursued by the student. MACDILL AFB 6TH MEDICAL GROUP BOOSTER CLUB – DONATIONS NEEDED
The 6th Medical Group Booster Club is looking for local business donations to be used in connection with their Holiday Celebration Party at the Holiday Inn, 700 N. Westshore Blvd, Tampa FL on Friday December 12, 2014. All items donated will be used as door prizes for the individuals who attend the party or to help supplement the cost of the event. Donors will be recognized on the back of the holiday party program as well as during the event as members are awarded with the prizes.
Each year a holiday party is held at MacDill to celebrate the holiday season, encourage esprit de corps, and boost morale. MacDill Air Force Base provides medical support to our active duty, retired military and their families. All donations will reflect the strong ties with the Tampa Bay community. Although this is an unofficial function, it will enable military and Department of Defense civilian employees and significant others an evening dedicated to the simple joys of family, friends and the holidays.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact SrA Yarely Jerez at (813) 828-9254 or SSgt Love at (813) 827-9168. Donations can also be sent to mailing address 6 MDG, 3250 Zemke Avenue, MacDill AFB, FL, 33621-1607.
