Mark, otherwise known to most as Gunny, came onboard with Celestar as our Recruiting Manager in June 2010. He is responsible for overseeing our recruiting department which frequently engages in high volume recruiting efforts to identify quality candidates for time sensitive requirements. Since his start, Gunny has introduced and implemented various methods of approach to enhance recruiting and minimize turnover while partnering to ensure that our recruiting efforts are in a continuous state of compliance with OFCCP regulations. Having earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management / Human Resources from Park University, he brings over 25-Years of hands-on full cycle recruiting experience in both the Civilian and Military sectors. His steadfast belief, “Success is 90% Attitude – 10% Aptitude.”
In the civilian sector Gunny’s recruiting experience expanded to such areas as Food and Beverage Manufacturing , Attorney Placement and Business Travel where he held such positions as Associate Vice President of Recruiting, Attorney Placement Director and Corporate Staffing Consultant.
Having retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1997 after 20-Years of service, Gunny’s active duty tenure encompassed such capacities as Intelligence Officer, Intelligence Chief, Intelligence Analyst, Division Assistant Security Manager, Canvassing Recruiter, MEPS Liaison and LVTP-7 Crewman. Assignments included: 2nd Marine Division G-2 and 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion — 1st Marine Division G-2 Intelligence Operations, 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion and 1st Tank Battalion S-2 — 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, MAG 14 G-2 and VMA-223 S-2 – Marine Corps Recruiting Station Boston, MA.
