Tampa “Carry the Load” Memorial Day March 2016 5k Walk and Rally – Just six years ago, former Navy SEALS Clint Bruce and Stephen Holley started the nonprofit organization Carry the Load with the purpose of restoring the true meaning of Memorial Day by connecting Americans with the sacrifices of veterans, military members and first responders. Through walks organized to recognize and remember the fallen, the organization seeks to raise funds for families left behind. All funds raised through their events and programs help support organizations that provide direct services to our nation’s heroes and their families. JPMorgan Chase is the lead corporate sponsor of Carry the Load as part of the firm’s longstanding commitment to Veterans and military families. This event provides a proactive opportunity to honor the service of colleagues, families and friends. We encourage folks to carry an item whether it is a rucksack, memento or picture that is symbolic of the personal story or load the individual is carrying. The entire Tampa community is invited to join JPMorgan Chase & Co. (employees, family, and friends, military, first responders, Veteran organizations, Girl and Boy Scout units, ROTC/JROTC units, student organizations, elected officials, and the general public). All ages are invited to join us at any point along the way, even if only for a few minutes, to show support. Rally Point will be at Ferg’s Live. There is no fee to participate, but participants are encouraged to register at CarryTheLoad.org/Tampa and bring out as many people as possible to help honor and celebrate our nation’s fallen and injured heroes and their families. Donations are collected through that site.
