Sunday, 25 May – beginning at 8:00 am – Flags For Fallen Vets – This organization has acquired permission to place flags on the 120,000+ veterans’ graves at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. “This will be the first time that this display of respect, gratitude and remembrance has been given to those heroes at rest there,” says Mr. Fussner, and will occur annually. Individual volunteers and teams are asked to register online at http://www.flagsforfallenvets.com/Contact.html. All ages are welcome. Teams and individuals will be “assigned” to sections of the cemetery, and can request to place flags in areas where they have friends or loved ones that have been laid to rest. They are hoping to have 2000-3000 volunteers assist in honoring those who have served and fallen.
